Radiography

Our vets have decades of experience in both hospital and in-field radiography of horses.  We utilise the latest mobile radiography equipment and regularly train in the latest practices for best results when imaging your horse.

X-ray is the most commonly used imaging technique for assessing lameness by allowing us to visualise bones and joints.

Our portable digital radiography unit allows us to assess the head, neck, spine and lower and upper limbs.

There are significant benefits to imaging your horse on your own property, as this significantly reduces risks of further injury from transportation.  Immediate and accurate diagnosis on your property also allows us to quickly diagnose and treat any identified injuries without delay.

Ultrasounds

Ultrasonography is used for the diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions including joint, tendon, muscle and ligament injuries.

We also use ultrasound to monitoring the healing process in these types of cases. Additionally, we also use ultrasound for evaluation of horses with abdominal pain (colic), respiratory disease and for cardiology examinations. Ultrasound is also routinely used to monitor reproductive cycles and pregnancy monitoring.
